The Bürg cheese dairy, which is surrounded by chestnut trees and lush grass, is located on Ennerbergstrasse on the boundary with the community of Oberdorf, in immediate proximity to picturesque Loretto Chapel and right on the Pilgrim’s Way. It is run by Pirmin and Daniela Dörig. The cheesemaster turns the silo-free milk supplied by local milk producers into the finest cheese specialties - above all Sbrinz AOP, which requires a minimum of two years’ ripening, Sbrinz chunks, grated Sbrinz as well as many cheese creations of his own.
