The Rotmoos cheese dairy cooperative was founded in 1934 in the wonderfully situated UNESCO biosphere region of Entlebuch. First-class Sbrinz cheese has been produced and processed here since 1960. Every year, the Rotmoos cheese dairy processes some 600,000 litres of milk, currently supplied by six milk producers from the immediate vicinity.
